Biography
Hamid Mahdavi was a 38-year-old professional firefighter and international rugby referee from Mashhad. He was also an online influencer, sharing educational content about his work with 95,000 Instagram followers. He was killed on January 8, 2026, on Haft-e Tir Boulevard in Mashhad, reportedly shot in the neck by security forces while assisting injured protesters during the Dey 1404 protests. A video of him carrying an injured person gained widespread attention.
