Biography
Hamid Mahdavi was a 38-year-old professional firefighter and international rugby referee from Mashhad who also shared educational content as a social media influencer. He was killed by security forces on January 8, 2026, after being shot in the neck on Haft-e Tir Boulevard. He became widely known for a viral video showing him carrying a wounded protester on his shoulders to safety during the unrest.
